Thanks, SJP2X11RT, I'll check into that.

TwistedNuB, I checked my mp3 files that won't play, and they are 192kbps.

Alright so I have a few questions about my audio system. I have a 2008 Dodge Ram and I am wanting to install Alpine Type R components and I am not positive what size my door speakers are. I've been told that I have 6x9 but after looking at a few sites it says that these speakers wont fit in my model. I've heard that the 6" sound better because they are circular but I don't know how true that is.

So do I need to get 6x9" or just the 6"? If they dont fit is there a way to get them to fit? And do you think an amp would be necessary for this? I am also considering getting a radio with an auxillary and usb, any recommendations?

Thanks

Default Would like to upgrade.

Hi. I have a 2008 mega cab larmie with the 7 speaker infinity stereo (non nav) rear DVD, and uconnect. I would like to upgrade to a 2 DIN stereo, amps, and speakers, but I would still like the rear DVD to work (the kids like it) and possibly the uconnect, though with the stereo I want to put in, it has it also, so not a big deal. How do I do this?

I just did this to my 2007 MegaCab. I too have the VES but I also have the REC/NAV head unit and did not replace it so my VES system works just fine.

You'll need a DD bezel, the amps and speakers of your choice, a harness adapter or two from PacAudio to interface amps and head unit to the factory harness & CanBus system.

Now as far as the VES system working with an aftermarket unit, since the signal cables in the stock system are bundled together and are served by one connector for multi-functions, you may need an adapter to intercept the signal, put it on another line that will interface with your aux or other input on the back of your new head unit. A lot of what you'll do here will be determined by which head unit you get.

So good luck with the upgrade!

Default what system to get?

Hope I am on right post board. I am ordering a new system and I don't know enough about them, need your help. I have a 09, 4x4, mega-cab, 6.7, and looking to replace stereo system. I am leaning towards to Pioneer5200 multi media system. Can anyone help me decide, I live in my truck for a job. On the road 4-6 days a week. I am wondering such a small system there has to be other equipment to buy to make all the extras to work. Such as Sirrus, XM-radio, blue tooth, it does a lot.

Am I even on the right page? Someone out there has to have a situation like mine. I am older don't need 50,000000 watts of power I am putting 1-10'-12" base under my back seat already have new infinity speakers custom ordered. I like the extras, things that make my life easy, I run pipelines in Texas. Like hands free phone, or something cool no one down here has seen. It gets old pushing buttons, holding phone or ear pieces in your ear. I'm gettin off subject. Just need info on a the best multi-media system out there or a route I need to go. Thanks so much everyone for your help. Working on the inside first then outside. Have a RAMTASTIC day Steve
