If you were going from Ram to Ram and within the same generation truck, this would be easy to do. Unfortunately, not a lot of us here have torn into a Durango. We do have a Durango forum that may be a possible source of information for you, MileHighRango.

Understandable, i currently have a single disk/aux radio from a 2008 ram in my Durango....I assume the better question is has someone with a 2008ish installed a radio from the the newer 2010ish trucks? the only problem that i have with the it is not compatible with the VES system in the rear. I cam here because people with Durango's aren't the kind of people who modify their vehicles very much...ram owners are a different story.

The most obvious problem is that the larger of the of the two connectors doesn't fit into the radio, the smaller one does.
I was hoping from tearing into a ram, that someone might know the pin-out of the 2008 radio and a 2010 radio, this way i might be able to splice the two harness together
I am also curious as to those who have a 2010 ram (possible all 4th gen's) that also have the factory VES system if they have the single disk version or a multi-disk version?

Thanks again for your guys help, hopefully you guys have the info i need!

I'm pretty sure the bus speed is different between the two, not 100% positive.

Hi, I have a 2011 Ram R/T and just want to put my fosgate amp and sub in. What do i need to do? In my old truck i tapped into the rear speaker with some box thing and hooked it to the RCA's on the amp and away we went, can i still do that?

The "box thing" you are referring to is an LOC (line out converter)....And yes, you can still do the same..

Anyone in here upgraded the battery power and ground cable on a 4th Gen 4.7 L Ram? Need help, cant find anything on this. The Big 3 upgrade should be somewhat strait forward, but with power wire to the Alternator connecting to a harness, Im not sure how to upgrade. I also am lost since this truck has a inline Fuse Box coming right off the battery and the ground cable splits 3 ways off the battery.
Please help...

here you can see that the power goes to the Alternator and the next image shows where the power also goes to the fuse block

Turn the ignition switch to the Off position. Be certain that all electrical accessories are turned off.
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable terminal clamp (3).
Disconnect the battery positive cable terminal clamp (1).
Remove the nut (9) securing the cable to the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) (5).
Disconnect the wire harness connector (6) at the TIPM.
Disconnect the wire harness connector (7) pushpin from the TIPM housing.
Disconnect the battery cable retaining pushpin (8) securing the cable to the battery tray.

Lift the terminal cap (4) and remove the nut (3) securing the cable (1) to the alternator (2).
Disconnect any remaining pushpins securing the cable to the vehicle.
Remove the battery positive cable from the vehicle.

real pics and real people who have done this on a 4.7l would be very helpful.

Thank you

When adding an amplifier to a fourth generation Ram, are you guys drilling a hole in the plastic cap to the right of the brake master cylinder and running your wire through there?

It's right next to the flexible rubber area that all of the vehicle electronics are routed. Thank you!

That cap/plug in the firewall is present in at least the 3rd and 4th gen trucks. That is the location I used for power into the cab for the aux lights.
