I took it apart this morning and everything is still hooked up correctly. I checked the fuse in the CHYPAC and it looked fine. I think I'll have to take another trip to the dealer.

Hey guys,

I'm finally taking the step to upgrade/replace my factory non-nav 7 speaker inifinity system. I haven't made it through this forums site yet, so if this is answered elsewhere, forgive me. Here it goes.

2008 Ram 1500 QC

What do I need to install an aftermarket HU and amp? I will be bypassing the factory amp, and running new wire and speakers. I do not know which harness to get (or if one is needed). Do I have to worry about CANbus? The PAC adapter is about $70, but I think that is only if you intend to keep the factory amp?

Here is what I have ordered so far:
PAC C2R-CHY4 Radio Replacement Interface for 2004-2009 Chrysler Vehicles (Have not ordered yet, do I need to?)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

Metra TurboWires 70-6504 Wiring Harness (Amp bypass)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

I'll be using the Pioneer AVH-P5200BT for the HU since Amazon had 30% off Pio products.

I'm thinking of using a JL Audio XD or HD amp to power the front 2 or 3 way Focal comps.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Default infinity swap 2003 3500

Hi I have a 2003 3500 quad cab 5.9 deisel. it does not have the infinity sound system. I bought the infinity head unit which works without the amp. which was surprising. Anyway I want to swap over the whole infinity system. bought the speakers on ebay . found the amp .I don't know what else i need. I know I need at least the dash harness. maybe the door harness??? maybe the main harness??? i don't know. I am in the process of replacing my a/c system due to a receiver dryer failure that destroyed the compressor . I am pulling the dash to replace the evaporator ,i am also replacing the top dash board because it is cracked badly. Both of these problems seem sort of ridiculous at 120000. I also have some other problems. the death wobble when i hit a bump that is uneven from one front wheel to the other. I looked out the window when it was doing the wobble and the wheels seemed to be wobbling back and forth from side to side. it did this when i bought the truck 4 years ago and i replaced the shocks and steering stabilizer which took care of it . now it has come back . i think a new double steering stabilizer might fix this problem . it also seems that the rear transmission yoke is leaking fluid from the center of the yoke. i have noticed this on other trucks of the same year . it seems that there is a small breather hole to allow the yoke to slide back and forth on the output shaft and this is where the fluid is coming from. please advise. I was also wondering about the lift pump? thanks Jason

I have an 03 ram 1500 QC with the infinity system. I have a Pioneer DEH-P5800MP head unit in it. The other day I bought an Axxess ASWC, which is an interface to make the OEM steering wheel controls work with the the Pioneer head unit.
The problem is the instructions dont seem to match up with the colors of the wires in the dash. It also doesnt help that the head unit was installed by Best Buy a few years ago and they did an ugly job of connecting the wiring harness (which is a Scosche, part #CR02B)
Do you happen to know which color wire I need to connect the ASWC to the trucks systems? The instructions for the ASWC say there should be a "Violet/Light Blue" SWC wire in the truck, but it seems to be missing. Any thoughts?

600 dollars would get you a NAV unit with blue tooth and all the features. What all are you really wanting?
