ok, I'm sure it been asked and answered many times but I don't feel like spending a day reading all these posts to find the info i need lol...

11' Ram with the base stereo in it... I just want to add a sub to it right now... I'm confused as to what I need to just add a sub and associated amp. Can i get signal via LOC's and if so what speakers should I use? I've read that I may need a summing device like a JL Clean Sweep..

The future will hold completely scrapping the stock system and running my own wires and amped component speakers but for now I just desperately need my BASS back!

Your help is appreciated.

I recently rented a Ram that had the bottom of the line audio system in it. No Nav. In my view, I thought it CLEARLY sounded SIGNIFICANTLY better than my "premium" Alpine system. I $hit you not. We had our iPhones plugged into it and for a stock system, it rocked. If I had that system I'm not sure I'd be going aftermarket. Well...okay...I still would be but at least I wouldn't have paid an arm and a leg for the pathetic crap I'm tearing out of there.

I haven't listened to my premium Alpine system for weeks. And not surprisingly, nowhere will you find "Alpine" stamped except for the dash. Everything is Mopar crapola. It's actually not funny when I think of how much I paid for a system I am ripping out within 3 months of owning the vehicle. Nice.

Precisely the reason why I'll never pay for a "premium" stock sound system... bc I know I wont be happy with it and I'll end up ripping it out... as a matter of fact while truck shopping I told the salesman to stop showing me trucks with the Alpine system bc I knew I would be replacing it... actually told him I'd build my own center console... and I am

Unfortunately I couldn't find what I wanted without a premium system so I sucked it up. That said, I got $17k+ off the window sticker so I figured I had a bit of wiggle room to rip and tear without feeling too guilty

You don't need anything special to hook those up. Just some power and an audio signal.

I have no experience with those products so I can't comment on what, if anything is better.

I'm working on pitting 2 10w6 in my crew cab with a fox box. Now I'm thinking amps I was going to go with a JL 500/1v2 slash but that might not be enough so would a 1000/1 be better? I want to buy once cry once haha. What JL amp would you guys recommend?

I have heard several good sounding systems in quad cabs. If you are wanting absolut brutal bass then keeping the back seats is out of the question but you can get a damn hard hitting system and keep everything mostly factory. I'm planning on a fox acoustics box and 2 JL 10w6 and a slash 500/1v2 to power them. I have read nothing but how good the fox boxes sound. The inventor says himself that the alpine 12's are tje loudest and hard hitting subs he has going for the dodge quad cabs and crew cabs. I just can't get over wanting the JL's. I'm planning on the 10's but man I think about moving up to the 12W6's and a 1000/1.
