Default Right side not working.

First check the balance. Then check wiring at head unit the amp and speakers. Also check to make sure you have negative and positive hooked up right. After that I can't tell you.
Good luck.

Default Speaker placement

I have a 2009 Ram Crew cab with the 10 speaker Alpine system and I'm not happy with the speakers, for starters. If I buy 2 sets of 6-1/2" components for the doors and put the front tweeters in place of the outer dash speakers and the rear tweeters in place of the headliner speakers will this sound good? Would the front stage sound better if I put some good 3-1/2" speakers instead? Also planing on wiring in an Audiocontrol LC8i after the factory amp to run a 4 channel for the components and a 2 channel for a single 10" sub, any suggestions?

If I swich to an aftermarket stereo will the stock GPS/satellite antenna work with the sat input? Just asking because I was given a liftime subscription to Siruis and dont want to loose it. Or would it be easier if I went to a stock nav system? In the future I want to replace the door speakers and add a sub. Just dont want to backtrack. I have the stock non-alpine system now.

I have what may be a silly question.

I have put a few systems in with multi amps, subs, etc, but, have never used the factory head unit.

I have a 2011 SLT quad with the base radio ( not the alpine, uconnect nav whatever)

What is the simplest cleanest way to put subs under the back seat. I have a local shop that makes a custom downfire box for 2 tens and puts either Focal or Alpine subs in it. I am told downfire wont tear up the seats or make them lift up due to the grills.
They want a about 900 for the install, I am sure the Alpines are less than the Focals. I don’t see why I couldn’t do it myself, but have never had any dealings with the factory head units in my vehicles, I always replaced them. This has SAT radio for a year free, and I don’t want to give it up until the subscription runs out.

Thanks.

You can just buy an amp with high level inputs and tap into speaker wires instead of using RCA jacks, but if your looking to use a high end amp that does not have these inputs you can buy just a line out converter.

So, if i use say the right rear speaker wire, do I loose the use of that speaker, or do I just splice the Line out into it and still use the right rear speaker?

Should I look for an amp that has a bypass to then run to the rear speakers?

Any ideas? If the stock antenna will work with an aftermarket system?

you can just tap into the wires without loss of the speaker. Lots of good amps have built in high level inputs, thats the easiest way to go.

Yes, but you will need an adapter plug.
