Check crutchfield.com for speaker size. Im pretty sure they are 6x9s in all 4 doors. Depending on which speakers you put in you can use different amps.

Default Hey you all

Just got me a 2011 Big Horn and would love to have the unconnect feature added. The buttons are there but msg says no unconnect install. What's the best way to do this?
AND: thanks for all the welcomes to the forumz, you know who you are.

i have a 2011 big horn and i'm wanting to take the stereo system from my 04 ram and move it over. my question is this, i think i want to keep the factory radio and add my amp and subs to it. is a pac convertor or LOC convertor going to do this for me? or do i need to just add my aftermarket head unit and lose the steering wheel controls? i have a panasonic fold out dvd player and i have not seen any adapters to fit it for the steering wheel controls.

this truck does not have the alpine system from factory.

I know im new here and i apologize i recently added this to my vehicle

2 Planet Audio BB1250.1 Amps
2 Dc level 3 10" subs 1800watts at 1 ohms
Running on 1gauge to a distribution box and then 4 to the amps
Also running dual optima Red Top Batteries

Obviously my alternator cant keep up, since once volumes go up the batteries start draining at idle, will this alternator i found online fix my problem?

http://www.nationsstarteralternator....1235-250xp.htm

I would greatly appreciate any help Thanks again

New to the forum... what a place!

The reason I joined, is that I am looking to do some mods/upgrades to my 2010 ram 1500 crew cab ST... beginning with sound. It just has a basic stock sound system in it... I am looking at upgrading the dash speakers, door speakers, adding 2 10" subs (most cheapo enclosures are for 10's under the rear seat) and adding a nav unit... the problem is, I'm not sure exactly which amp to use. I haven't decided on the speakers yet as I wanted to buy most of the setup from crutchfield, however most of their speakers say they are not compatible with my truck. Furthermore, I am not sure which amp to use. I would like to buy one amp to power both subs and the speakers but some guys are telling me to run 2 amps - 2 channel for the speakers and a mono for the subs...

I do apologize as I read many pages on here but there are about 90 pages so if someone's asked this already and knows what page it's on, please point me in the right direction.

Oh, and I want to do the install myself and save some money. I have no experience in installing audio, but I just did the electrical including several mods to my hog so I do have a minute amount of experience. Thanks!

Im not sure if anyone is interested but, 2 months ago i installed a set of 6x9s in my front door 6x9 locations and was amazed at the performance of these speakers for the price. Also I ran them off the factory non premium head unit. I used dynamat on the door skins and also sealed all openings in doors with dynamat. Im 45 yrs old and have always been an audio enthusiast. Have owned many of the expensive, high end audio components and these may just be the best I have ever heard. I know you will not believe this but here it is ...... Soundstream 6x9 Tarantulas. Coaxial, pivoting silk dome tweeter, 3 ohm, biampable, with crossovers. So smooth and the bass is very impessive. If you want a nice sounding system and dont want to lose the space to Subs. Check these out!! 69.00 online, Easy to find.

No offense but if those are the best you've ever heard you were never into truly high end car audio. LOL

Not really a true audio question, so forgive me and delete if necessary, but though that the audio gurus might have some tricks.....

Looking for advice on how to get the cable for my yet to be installed stake-pocket CB antenna into the cab? My CB is mounted under my driver seat. I tied in to the power wires for the dash mounted 12v outlet, which should be fine....not hard at all. But the antenna routing....well, I figure the only option is to run the cable waaaaaay up under the truck to the firewall and back to the CB under the carpet....twice the actual distance I need....not sure if the antenna I am getting will have enough cable or not....

Figured what with bed-mounted amps and things being all the rage these days, maybe you guys would have some tricks.

Thanks for any advice....
