to davidg i just installed a kenwood dnx9980hd that has dvd/nav/sirius or xm in a 2012 ram 1500 for about 700.00 . i originally had the bare bones radio. you dont have to cut the bezel but you do have to trim a metal brace under the dash and cut the plastic between the radio bolts behind the bezel if you do a google search it will show you what exactly you have to cut.
I have the latest updates for the REN 9.292 everything was going OK...last few days it turns off by itself..then turns back on...after it comes back on several things do/do not work...you can't turn the radio off...volume will not work....if I hit the radio media button nothing happens...no songs(when I am able to get to the Media part) are not showing....this did have UConnect but it lately its been working part time...i used to hear the hard drive spinning- if I shut the car off and was just sitting in it,,don't hear that any more. Sometimes it stays on after the truck is locked but eventually turns off.
if it's a hard drive issue can that be replaced by itself...dont know why but I did ge tinto the "system info" and copied down all thoise numbers.... ser #.... etc
just went off the 3yr/36,000 mile warraanty(probably some "timer" went off when it went off the warranty) but actually it's worked fine up to the last 2 days
I just had a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH & the back-up camera installed. I amused to when you put the truck in "rev" the camera comes on, but it wont display until you select "AV" & wait for the image.
Can anyone PLZ Help me out?????
I have a 2009 Dodge ram 1500 with the RER radio in it. I had a XM subscription for years for the opie and anthony show and was glad to hear that they would be put on sirius because i could use the sirius on the RER instead of a XM unit on the dash.
So i activated the sirius today and realized that the radio only goes to channel 184 the preview channel and not above to the channel 206 like i need.
Does anybody know if there is an update to fix this issue? My radio is running the 2.302 software.
Quick question here. I was looking at trading in my truck, however as I upgraded my Sirius subscription to lifetime, I was told that the only way to have the subscription changed/removed from the OEM stereo was if the radio was either stiolen or defective. So my thought was to buy a new dodge vehicle and swap the stereo's. The sales guy here told me that the stereo is linked to my VIN and would not work in another vehicle at all, and I'm not sure if he was being truthful or just looking for a sales pitch if I did trade it in.
