Are there any depth issues going with any speakers in the factory placement? I would really like to put the rubber surrounds behind the 6x9's at least so that they won't rattle, but if there is a depth problem, I won't worry about it. I am looking at these specific speakers:

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A69...I39PH3YJQ3CHGC

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A69...I39PH3YJQ3CHGC

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A87...I2Y9150J91LGHE

All pioneer as I'm a big fan of their sound. I've never had a set go bad on me, the highs are crisp and clean, and the mid bass is fantastic. I listened to a pair of Focal speakers that were 4-5 times the price and they really didn't sound much better if at all. My plan is adding a Pioneer double din DVD player. Something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P3...ds=avh-p3400bh

My other option was the same head unit, only going with Alpine type R speakers all the way around. Not a big difference in price, but more mids and a little less sharp highs. Different sound, but still, quite a good sound for a decent price. They seem to be a bit more on the flat side, whereas the Pioneer tend to be more on the highs and lows. Mid lacks a touch.

Your thoughts.

if you never looked at JL audio, I would highly recommend taking a look. I have them in my boat as well, they are fantastic, and priced reasonable. I have had both Alpine and Pioneer in the past, both great sounding speakers, but in my opinion the JL's beat um...just my 2 cents.

As far as depth issues, the 6x9's i installed would not fit in the front due to depth, and JUST fit in the back, so i went to the 5.25 for the front, with the adaptor for the 6x9 hole. I didnt do anytrhing to dampin the vibration., and I have all doors powered by a JL audio amp, and even when I have that cranked, I get awsome souind, and never had any rattle.
If your worried about the rattle, and probably dont have room for the rubber behind the speakers, you could always dynamat your doors.

I have heard the JL's and for subs, they flat rock, but for the smaller stuff, they just seem flat to me. Not really much of anything IMO. I like really crisp sound that the pioneers put off, and the JL's didn't do much for me but they are nice for sure.

got to go with what sounds good to your ears...the JL i believe have a thicker magnet, and a deeper depth, so you might not have a depth issue. Should at least fir in the rear doors for sure..
check the specs and measure, the door panels are very easy to remove and install again, should only take about 15 minutes for the whole procedure to remove, measure, and install.

Hey Guys,

I have an 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab and I want to put two Kicker CVT 10" subs under my back seats with a custom box from Kicker and their ZX750.1 Amp and I will also be getting a Kenwood or Pioneer in dash screen. I was wondering if those subs will be hitting the rear seat as the seat is down and with people sitting on them? Also are the CVT10's that much better than the Comp10's with a ZX400.1 Amp with the drastic price difference? Thanks for your help

Default Oem kicker upgrade

Hello everyone,Second post don't know if I have it in the right forum or not.I have a 2005 ram 1500 with the Factory RAZ head unit with the 7 speaker infinity system.I want to upgrade to the 77kicker18ab amp.Mopar says it will work.Kicker tech support says it will work if the truck is can-bus but not if it is pic-bus.The factory infinity amp is a 7 channel I think and the upgrade is 8. Completely lost and out of my element.Has anyone used this amp on a 2005 or can shed some light for me.any help would be greatly appreciated.

So one question I have is that I'm receiving conflicting info on my speakers. I have a 2011 ST Quad Cab and I believe that I have 3.5'' speakers in the dash, 5.25" speakers in the front doors, and 6x9" in the rear. Is this correct?

Also, crutchfield is saying I need to get adapter rings for all of them but I've never used them in the past at all before, so I'm curious if others have had to use anything to adapt your new speakers to fit in the factory locations. Any help would be great.

All doors are 6 x 9 and the dash is 3.5 If you buy aftermarket 3.5 for dash they should fit right in. You might have depth issues with aftermarket 6x9 in the front doors, I used 5.25 with adaptor rings. In the rear doors, I was able to use 6x9, but they JUST fit as far as depth.

What kind of speakers did you go with for the speakers? I'd like to go factory size all the way around, but if the mags are too big on them, and they end up too deep, this just won't work.

Also, anybody know the maximum mounting depth on the front and rear doors for the speakers?
