Default NEED HELP!!! 5.9 Cummins

I have an 03 3500 5.9. It runs great and when I stop at a light it shuts off. Sometimes it will shut off riding down the road. If it sit for a few minutes it will start up again. Seems to do it around a 1/2 tank and under. I've been told the pickup tube may be bad and needs to be replaced. COME ON GUYS I know someone out there has the answer.

Do you have any idea what the fuel pressure is doing? That would help you in your or someone elses diagnosis.

Default 5.9 lift pump / fuel problems

Your problem sounds a lot like mine, one day at a light it just stooped and never started again. My 2500 had the external fuel lift pump and it died. Had to replace it but after that nothing stops it. I chose to go with an external FASS sysem over the factory in tank replacement pump. Now if you have already check your fuel pump and presure then just ignore my post. Hope this helps and good luck

Default

my 2 gueses are fule pump and or filter. if it origional filter start there, it much cheaper part. if you have to pull the tank to get at bout (sorry not familiar as to where they are placed on the dieseles) then i would replace both at the same time for peice of mind...your there anyway
