Exclamation Check Engine Light on???? Any help

I started my truck today to hear an added ding and my CEL comes up... The truck has only 71 or 72,000 km on its oils has been changed 4 times in just over 3 months ish as i dirve alot for work and use full synthetic Mobil 1. fuel system lucas at oil changes running mid-grade gas since i found out it is what the hemi likes. I have recently couple weeks or more had the exhaust done and i put in the K&N air intake. I bought it at 53,000km

To be honest being new to dodge trucks from chevy's this is what i worried about the truck not holding up in the long haul which is why i bought newer instead of something 5,6,7 years old, and dodge was the more economical way to go vs. chev, and so far I'm in love with it but i have already replaced one tie-rod 3 weeks after buying it, but now a who knows what CEL code that hopefully is nothing serious, but with my luck it could be. The dealer wants 99.99 just to read the code which is #$%^ing retarded for just a simple read,,, would be better put my money into a DSP and read it mysefl,,, "quote end rant"

My question is could there be anything that may cause the CEL to come on that isnt anything major,,, like gas cap tightened for an example or plugs wires need to be done,, ,or battery needs reset after a mod like intake etc,,,

any help appreciated,,, and i think this is where iwould post this,,, let me know if i'm wrong,,, Thanks,,,

Could be gas cap not tight enough or could be really alot of things misfire due to a bad plug best thing to do is goto an autoparts store have them read it for you if they have the tool for it or buy the tool yourself thats my best advice i can give

Sobercrew's right. Here in the states the autoparts stores have code readers and will read them for free, they are just no allowed to reset them.

Once you know the code come back here and post what it is, that way we can offer more help.

I dont know the price difference being im in the us and your up in canada but around here readers go anywhere from like $125-$1,500 best best is to do some research on the internet for code readers if you wanna just buy

DSP? Oh, you mean the Predator? Well, down here in the states they run from $290 - $350 US.

I'd call around to the local autoparts stores to see if they have a code reader and how much they charge for reading codes.
