Default Rough at 1500 RPMs

I just purchased a 2007, 1500, 4.7, Big Horn, with 30K miles. When driving at roughly 40 MPH and 1500 RPMs it drives rough. Feels like it is not getting enough air or fuel. Driving at 60mph is not a problem. Anyone else experience this? If so, how did you fix it?

When you say "rough" do you mean the engine feels like it is missing or are you feeling some suspension bounce?

Good question. My route to work has new pavement so I don't think it is suspension although I could be wrong. By rough I mean when I am driving at a constant 40mph and roughly 1500 rpms it feels like the engine is cutting out. The rpm gauge doesn't move but it feels like the engine isn't getting air or fuel. I looked at the air filter and it is new. I tried different gas this past week and that wasn't it. The model I have is gas/ethonal, not sure that matters.

What gear are you running in? You may be lugging the engine a bit at 1500 RPM which is just off idle.

If you are in OD around town, shift out of OD and see how it feels. It will run about 300 - 400 RPM higher at that speed.

You're welcome. 1500 is OK for cruising down the freeway but around town, throttle on and throttle off at low speeds, it's not the best RPM.
