Default Replacing stock antenna with small aftermarket antenna mast

Has anyone replaced there stock radio antenna with a small aftermarket antenna mast? Was wondering how difficult it would be? Car beyond offers some nice looking ones. Wondering if they'll fit a Ram?

I had a AMI stubby antenna on my 07, it looked nice, but I didn't like it too much. I lost significant radio reception, so I ended up taking it off. I haven't seen the ones on Car Beyond though.

I have an AMI billet 6" mast and I don't notice much loss in reception. Nice custom touch also IMO.

Getting a stubby antennae is really easy, the stock one just unscrews, and the new one screws back in it's place. You do lose some signal on the low power FM signals and almost all AM. I have a hidden anteannae and shaved the stock one, and i have no AM but do alright on the hidden one.

The base of all domestic vehicle antennas is the same so this would be easy to do.

The hard part is finding one that doesn't compromise your radio reception.

My short one lost to much reception for my taste, so I cut my stock one down, it's about foot right now, I also painted it silver.

I have the six inch billet phat antenna that I got from stylin trucks. It was 25 bucks real easy to put on and looks great. I haven't lost any radio reception either.

I'm considering the Isotta Venus from Car Beyond. I listen to satellite radio the majority of the time so AM/FM reception's not really an issue for me.
