Default used car warranty question...

Hey every one, I'm a new member on here and have recently bought a used 2004 ram. When I bought the truck it had a Flowmaster dual exhaust installed by the previous owner. My question is this under the lemon law I have a 30 day full warranty ( I'm only on day 8 ) and while I was bringing the truck in to have some repairs done to it I noticed that the exhaust was falling apart. I asked if them to fix it, but I'm afraid they are gonna put it back to stock! I want the Flowmaster, do they have to give me what I purchased with the truck or can they go back to stock regardless of what I want and bought it with? Thanks in advance for the responses...

I'm sure that's going to vary from state to state but I would think they're allowed to repair it how they see fit so long as it's emissions legal. Offer to work with them and maybe split part of the cost with them to get what you really want.

I was afraid of that.... I can just hope for the best an see what they say, I just didn't want to have to pay the big bucks to replace it on my own.... I guess I looked at it as, it's the way I bought it and it was a draw of the truck so why wouldn't they repair it to what I bought it with....

Why? The simple answer is cost. They can hang a $25 muffler instead of a $100 Flowmaster and it's repaired. Find out what they will do and maybe pay the difference between what they want to put on it and a new Flowmaster if it's needed. Is the muffler bad or is it just the pipes?
