not bad experience, but if you put a shift kit on it, all that extra pressure inside a tranny with however many miles on it will be a whole lot more than its use to and was built for. therefor, seals=history.
I've heard that as well, that it's a good idea to get the transmission rebuilt when installing a shift kit. I don't know about Ram trannys but with older Chevys and stuff it's almost the same price to buy a beefed up aftermarket tranny with a shift kit already installed as to getting one rebuilt and paying for the shift kit to be installed.
