Default Just made a deposit...how'd i do?

just made a deposit on a fully loaded 2010 sport in mineral grey.

window sticker price $45,000:
http://www.dodge.com/hostc/getWindow...RV1CT9AS258159

After a few days back and forth negotiating the best i could do was come down to 39,000 & taking the low interest, so that my monthly payment is lower.

I could of taken the truck at 36,000 with the 3000 dollar rebate, but my payment would of been much higher then im comfertable with ( gotta draw the line somewhere )

for those who are curious, 72 months at 530 and change per month, at 7,000 or so down. so im financing 32k or so.

truck looks just like this:

thoughts?

Right in the market given today's slow sales.

So if I read this right, they were willing to give you low interest with no rebate or a rebate and higher interest, eh? What were the numbers on that and would your financial institution have beat the interest rate?

I like to smack 'em down a bit because they offer one or the other but don't sell the paper right off the bat and get you a better rate with the rebate.

Guess I would have thought the deals would be better since the '11's are arriving but I suppose that differs from dealership to dealership, too. I heard a commercial on the radio the other day for a dealership around here offering $13,000 off 2010 models and $6,000 off the HD's. Like Michael, I'm wondering if you couldn't get a better deal by securing your own financing.

Yeh, i thought the deals would be hotter, but it is what it is. I've been actively looking for about 3 weeks now, lots of dealers, even out of state... Typical price for all of them OTD on a 45,000 $ truck was about 36,000 or so AFTER rebates.

So, like i said... the offer was at 36,000 dollars.... but my interest rate was about 6.5% - 7% or so... so my payment would of been closer to the $580-600 dollar mark.

So giving up the 3000 dollar rebate i opted for the 1.9 % financing,... im paying 3000 more for the truck, but my montly payment is lower, and better suits my needs.

I do not plan on paying this truck off with in the next 3-4 years or so, So i decided to save the money per month.

Picking her up tomorrow after noon

So was that interest rate what they offered with their "incentive" program or was that shopped around? It seems high.

In any event, congrats on the the new truck!

well, it's either or.

Take the 3000 dollar rebate, OR take the 0% 60 month, or 1.9% 72 month.

If you choose to take the 3000 dollar rebate, your interest rate is dictated by whatever the bank chooses as a result of your credit score... In my case, it was about 6.5 %

And yes, this was financing with them, Ally Bank(GMAC).

Oh, OK. They did shop the interest rate then.

Sounds like the low interest they offered was the best overall deal then.

Have fun with the truck! I bet you are just gettin' real anxious to get your hands on it!

Alot lately depends on what part of the country your in too. I bought my '10 yesterday, stickered for 41500 or similar and ended up out the door at just over 32800. With 3.9%, but Cali is hurtin these days. I was one of 2 or 3 people there on one of the biggest days of the year. Congrats' on the purchase!

Makes sense and sounds like you made the best decision there and congrats on your truck! Are you planning any mods for it?
