To each his/her own. After all it is your truck.

I would never lift a 2wd, just like I would never lower a 4wd. In my opinion its all function over form. You lift a truck to fit bigger tires. You get bigger tires for more ground clearance, and you get more ground clearance to be more capable off road. I come from a jeep background, and I did as little lifting as possible for the biggest tire for the gearing.

I see no issue with lifting a 2wd. I would bet that 3/4 of the lifted 4x4s in this area have never seen dirt or mud.
I had an 01 1500 Off Road Edition. I didn't lift it but it went off road and in much several times.
After that I had a 02 2500 CTD 4x4 lifted on 37" and believe me it saw mud.

The same people that complain about lifted 2wd's will probably complain about lowered 4x4's. I'm not real big on the idea of lowering a 4x4 and wouldn't do it but any mod that someone wants to do to their own ride is their business and not mine.

i bought a 2wd for several reasons - it was several thousand $$s cheaper, it gets better mpg, and i've only used 4wd 2 times in my entire life.. personally i like the way lifted trucks look, so idc if you hate it, i'm gonna lift my 2wd truck and put some aggressive tires on it. .. its like hating people with bumper stickers because they dont race their car in nascar.. some people just like to do it... also its not like my truck is a 4cyl and says "2 WHEEL DRIVE" on the side

I have 2wd with a 10 inch lift on 38s and never have anyone say anything so far. But it hasnt been lifted long either. Very soon it will be lifted 19 inches on 40s making it the biggest 4th gen around
