Default Glasspacks?

If i put a glasspack on my truck will it still pass emissions? Also would a longer glasspack compared to a shorter glasspack sound the same?

I don't know about the laws in your state but the length will definitely make a difference. The longer it is the lower the tone. The shorter ones will have a louder sound more like an open header.

Thanks, i was thinking of getting a glasspack instead of a whole catback system, think it'll sound alright?

Yeah. I plan on doing the same thing. Just remember that the glasspack will be considerably louder than most mufflers.

Ya, i want it to be loud though, so it's fine, and thanks, i'm planning on going with not the smallest glasspack, but not the biggest, but in between, i think its like a 25" glasspack. Cherry bomb.

I just put one on my truck a week ago and it sounds awesome no performance gains that i've noticed so if you get one its strictly for the sound. theres also fiberglass inside of it that when the pack is hot you can spray cold water on it and the fiberglass will shatter making it even louder. haven't done it yet but i plan to in a while

just be careful if you live in a place where you get snow, i've heard salt eats away at those like crazy and can do real damage in a years time.

Thanks, i think i'm going to go with a flowmaster, because i'm pretty sure glasspacks wont pass emissions.

After some research you can go with glasspacks. The muffler type will not effect your emissions test. The muffler only effects sound. The CATS deal with emissions. We have emissions tests here in Houston and I've had trucks with glasspacks that passed the emissions tests.

I had Magnaflow "magnapacks" on my 00 Mustang GT. I really loved them but I don't have to deal with emissions tests in my state. I was running an off road H pipe with no cats and the magnapacks. It sounded great but was a little loud for my taste.

Magnaflow makes a great product and most of their stuff is stainless if you are worried about snow / salt.
