Then I would think Megs fine clay would be about right. What polish do you plan on using, or are you just going to stick with #7 glaze?

In 1.5 years that also works out to once every 2.7 days. 600 hours also work out to one full 8 hour day a week. I respect your tenacity but wholy crap man.

As of today I have exactly 200 coats of polish and or wax. That works out to roughly every 6 miles then it gets a 2-3 hour cleaning/detailing session. As my new truck (get it tomorrow) will be a daily driver I suspect I will wax/polish/detail her once per week. The odd time if I am bored I will do a second session. When I detail a vehicle I wax the door jambs, under the hood well anything metal.

My polish/wax of choice is Meguires. For polish I use Meguires number 7 and for waxing I use Meguires NXT Generation 2.0. I always apply my product in straight lines to avoid spiderwebbing and use cotton terry towels and microfiber towels to buff/finish. Of coarse the rims are polished and tires are always dressed usually with Armor-all.

The inside of the new truck will be spotless of coarse as will the engine bay. It is so easy to keep the vehicle spotless as long as you start from day one once home from the dealership. Lets see who my competition is folks tehehehe

sorry to hi-jack, im not as much of a clean freak as some, but do like a shiny/clean looking truck at all times also. hard to do working at an oil refinery tho!! but now i have a question for you guys. i have some light scrape marks in my paint (detonator yellow) that look like they aren't in the paint, more just the clear coat. what polish or rubbing compound should i try to get most of these out? i don't want to mess up the area anymore if its not going to take out the marks....

thanks guys

Are you looking to do it by hand? And with products you can pick up in a local store?
