Default Ram 5.2 to 5.9 engine swap!

Can anyone advise me as to the compatibility of this swap out. My current setup is a 1997 1500 magnum 5.2 four wheel drive (receipient) and I am putting a 5.9 out of a 1998 ram (donor).

1) Will the computer have to be changed in the receipient vehicle to match the 5.9 computer?
2) Does it matter if the donor 5.9 is two or four wheel drive from a computer standpoint?

Thank you!

The computer will work . You may have to get it reflashed . The trucks that I have done didn't need to . It doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4x4 . Just make sure you install the torque convertor for the 5.9 in the trans . The 5.9 is externally balanced .

The 5.9 can run on 5.2 software but it's best to have the PCM flashed.
