WOW. In a previous life I worked with some Israeli special forces. Krav Maga is AWESOME. You must work for a very open minded forward thinking department. Good for you mate.

Here in Arizona you no longer need a CCW permit to carry a concealed weapon on your person, however I do have a CCW permit and carry either my CZ 9mm, Beretta PX4 45 or my Colt Officer's 45 on my hip, each one is loaded and ready to go. Like others have said, it's not that I don't feel safe, it's just that you never know, there are a lot of nuts out there.

In Ohio, if you have a CCW, it has to either be on your body, in the glove box, or in a storage box. It can be loaded and ready to go.

Its more luck and less forward thinking...our LT over SWAT just happens to be a Krav Maga instructor. His best friend is Chief of Police so I few policies and GO's later here we are...all trained in Krav Maga!

Side note.....am I the only one that saw the Trunk Monkey video a few posts back?

I have CWP and keep my Glock 26 on the hip. I hope to never have to use it but better safe than sorry.

Before making such a statement you need to check you facts- according to the FBI- NJ is not in the top 10 but some of the southern states are- in addition it is not in the top 20 according to the following link

http://www.walletpop.com/insurance/dangerous-cities

It is amazing how people think that the states with the most "relaxed" guns laws think that that their states are safer which is just not the case. According to the link above the opposite is true-some of the most "relaxed states are the most dangerous states-
You quote FBI Stats but then link a 'walletpop'(?) site that appears to be financed by insurance companies. Which is it?

Yes - It is true that following the enactment of concealed carry legislation, crime rates do drop. Criminals may make dumb choices, but they're not stupid. You tend to re-think your plans to commit crimes when you're not sure who is armed and who isn't. It's much safer (from a criminal's POV) to commit crime in gun-free area like Washington DC, Chicago, etc...

I had a salesman 'demonstrate' the safeties of the Glock design once in a gun shop! He took his personal sidearm off his belt, showed me the full chamber and then proceeded to thrown the gun over my head and against the back wall of the shop!!! "See, perfectly safe!" he exclaims! I couldn't get out of there fast enough!

Point being though, You can carry a Glock chambered very safely since it has multiple active safeties built into the gun. They all disengage as you pull the trigger. Try to dry-fire your pistol by pulling only the main trigger and not the little trigger lever with it and you'll see what I mean.

Good choice! They're great guns! Mine's never failed to go bang when I asked it to and never when I wasn't expecting it either!
