Default Installing Headers

I'm going to be installing some Edelbrock shorties on Saturday hopefully. I have all the parts and such, but I was wondering if anyone had any install tips? I want this to go as quick and painless as possible. Is there anything that's majorly in the way, ect.

And what is the best plan of attack? I assume it's to take the wheel and wheel well out and dig at it from there.

Thanks!

In California it's every 2 years. I just got mine done and will probably reinstall my cutout soon. I dumped it so I wouldn't get in trouble by the po po, but it's too much fun.

What abot the flanges? Is there a gasket or something that goes there or do I just bolt metal to metal? It would make sence that there's a gasket of some sorts.

There is no gaskets, just metal to metal, if you are talking about the collector end if the header.

Shorties are pretty straight forward on the 3rd gens. Jjust pull the wheels and wheel well liners like you mentioned, and you should have plenty of room. Be sure to go back and re-tighten the header bolts after about 500 miles. They sometimes try to back out on you a little, so checking them will help prevent any exhaust leaks.

Also, are you planning to use the Edelbrock header gaskets? If so, I recommend picking up a set of factory gaskets from the dealer instead. They are only about $25, and are a much better quality gasket.

^x2^ on the factory gaskets. I have them on my LT's and never had a leak.
