I just picked up my Hunter Green Outdoorsman on Friday and love it. It's my first RAM, been a Ford guy my whole life. The Outdoorsman had all the stuff I was looking for as I do a lot of hunting/fishing and off road more than on. The Outdoorsman has better options and a way better price than the F150 FX4. Fishing season here starts in 5 weeks and I can wait to put it to good use. All hail HEMI...

Hello DeltaMcfoxtrot,

Congratulations on your new Outdoorsman. You sound much lke myself as I do a lot of hunting, fishing and camping. My 2003 Hemi Ram Off-Road edition has been a great truck and the Outdoorsman is basically the newer equivalent of my Off-Road version. One thing I am not crazy about are the painted front & rear bumpers on the new Outdoorsman and I'm not sure if you can even order them with chrome on this package. I just have a thing about chrome and feel they hold up better than painted bumpers. My 2003 chrome bumpers are still showing like new. The Outdoorsman looks like a great truck. Enjoy!!

I love the holster idea. Really nice feature for hunter/fisherman, though not sure what makes it worth over $200.00...

I am looking at a 2011 Outdoorsman with a Hemi and 3.92 gears. I really wish it had the rambox though. I can't seem to find anything with a rambox that isn't a Laramie.

Not sure about this marketing ploy. there's really isn't that much difference in this truck in my opinion. I'm afraid this makes dodge/ram look somewhat desperate.

It's really just a way to bundle some popular options in a quick order package. I like a vehicle with little chrome and this fit the bill. I opted for one without the rambox as it was 11K off retail, all black, and had just what I wanted.

I guess it's no difference than what ford or chevy has tried in the past

The gear range for the 4th gen 1500's is 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92. The 3.92 is the only one that has a locking differential. I believe this is standard for the Outdoorsman package.

By the way... picked mine up today!
