Default Low Idle Speed

I have 2010 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi and less than a thousand miles. The idle is normally at 6000 RPM's. I now notice that the RPM's are sometimes a little under 5000. I'm not sure when this started or if it has done this since I bought it last month. But now that I am watching it, today I noticed that when I stopped the idle dropped to about 4000 RPM's then immediately went back to 6000. Also the engine seems to have a lot more engine noise than I would have thought a new truck would have. Not exhaust noise but a lot of ticking which I assume is the fuel injectors. Much louder in the garage of course. I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.

I think the rpms you mean are 600, 500, and 400.

Those would be normal. Its all computer controlled.

The ticking noise at idle is the Hemi tick, also normal.

You have the Hemi tick. Perfectly normal. As for the idle speed, You mean 400-600 rpm, right? IF the truck starts dying or giving any problems, have the dealer check it out.

The computer is set to give optimum mpg and sets the idle based on the demand put on the motor.

Turn everything off and look at the rpm, then start adding things like max a/c and see what happens. Then put it in gear for another test.

Quick question. When at idle (500) do you guys feel a little bit of shaking also? I am assuming its normal.
