Default Trailer Brake

Does anyone know if one of the 2010 or 2011 intergrate brake controlers work in my 2009 ram? If not any suggestions on what type to buy, I would like to get one that will fit into the insert that is in my dash where the intergrated one goes.
Thanks

I don't believe it does. Sorry. There are some good aftermarket brands that will work though. Can't recall right now what they are though.

I read somewhere that it would work but you had to get the dealer to flash the truck afterwards.

I dont think it will. But to confirm, you can pull the center panel where the hood pull is (lower dash). Its only two screws. Find the harness to the left, if there are two connectors (large and small) taped to the harness, then you can use the connector. If there is one connector then you'll need to hardwire the rest.

I don't think it will but I may be wrong. One way to find out is to call the dealer parts department and ask for the part number for each year. If they are different, you may have a compatibility problem. If they are the same, yer good.

I also agree that you may need a reflash for it to work it it fits. Seems that if you add any electrical to these trucks you need a dang reflash.
