Default Another way to get more power?

Well thought I would bother ya'll with another question regarding my truck. As seen in my profile it is a 95 4X4. The problem is this truck just has no power on the freeway. It has to downshift to go up a mild hill at freeway speeds. Now it seems to have plenty of oomph at lower speeds and will even chirp the tires. I have done numerous things which I listed below to try and help with this weakness to very little effect. I do have the wild vent issue so probably have a slight vacuum leak but not sure if that would make a difference. My question is this. Is this just an underpowered engine and I'm wasting my time on upgrades? Or is there possibly something wrong with it?(already checked plenum and it is fine) I get about 12-13 mpg which seems normal from what I've read. Any ideas?

Upgrades:
Flowtech headers, Superchip(previous owner), AEM intake, Magnaflow cat back exhaust, Accel wires, plugs and cap.

A vacuum leak def isn't good, how many miles are on her? what size tires? what tranny? what size rear end? This may help to better answer your questions..

Well she's got 167,000 miles on her. The tires are 265/75 16. The transmission was supposedly rebuilt recently before I bought . And to be honest I do not know the rear end or gear set on her.
Thanks again for any advice. Just trying to love her a little more.

You've got a tired 5.2 and most likely 3.55 gears. I wouldn't expect to have much get up and go at freeway speeds without downshifting. The good thing aboout your upgrades is that they can be used on a 5.9 if you ever decide to do a swap.

Well that's kind of what I expected to hear but was hoping that maybe there was something I could do to pick up the pace in the truck.
I think having a 5.9 liter installed would be cost prohibitive for me so I guess I will just have to drive granny style. Thanks anyway for the responses! I appreciate the time ya'll spent reading my post!

just go fast enough on the flat parts of the freeway and you shouldnt have to downshift haha. I always have to downshift in mine, I have 35x12.5 tires on it and unless i have a lot of built up speed theres no way im getting up that hill above 100kmh so i normally go in fourth sometimes even third. such is life, changing the gearing in the rear to 3.92 MAY help with the downshifting, it wont give you anymore power but it may reduce the amount of times the truck downshifts

Notice a big change on how my 5.2 responded after I clean the TB! Brought some life back into my engine that has 215,000 on it.

I have seen some nice walk-throughs for cleaning the TB. Maybe I will give it a look and see what condition it is in. Thanks for the tip!
