Quick google search produced this.

It means "Crystal Clear Display" but in basic term its called a ccd bus, basically the OH console module is not communicating with body control module so you want to check power and ground pins or you just might have a bad module, sorry.
A self-diagnostic test is used to determine that the
compass mini-trip computer module is operating
properly electrically.
CCD communications test.
Following completion of these tests, the compass
mini-trip computer will display one of three
messages: “PASS,” “FAIL,” or “CCd.”
if the “CCd” message is displayed, the use of a
DRBt scan tool and the proper Diagnostic Procedures
manual are required for further diagnosis.

It is pointing out a basic requirement -

Chrysler Corporation donation

Simply donate a lot of money to your local Chrysler Corporation representative (AKA dealership) and the appropriate correction will be applied.

hey, btw, my '97 has the overhead too, it has a compass. then "OC" behind the heading.. is that all there is on the '97s? and what would the OC stand for?
It has one button...for US or metric. nothing changes when I push it.. was it for outside temp?
The compass seems fairly accurate. I don't really mind if it's supposed to read the outside temp. I am just curious.

Is the O small, like a degree symbol? If so it might mean degrees Celcius and that would suggest that it should have a temperature display. I am not familiar with the OH consoles in your year of truck, but my earlier Rams showed the compass and temperature beside each other in the display.

good q Brad! the 'o'.. is just a block o..the same size as the 'c'. Probably something screwed up in the sensor, or module....oh well. It got me to Cali and back fine without it!
There are a couple of fuses missing.. I need to check if any of those may be affecting that!
almost forgot!! on the inside rear veiw mirror, there is a little push button on the bottom edge of the mirror. And I just noticed a wire running to the mirror as well. push it.. nuttin happens. auto dimmer? or in-cab lighting?
again, just curious on what this truck used to do when it was new!
