Default super 40 and resonators??

I had a flowmaster super 40 put on my truck, I like the way it sounds but am looking for a bit more sound. Checked at one of the exhaust shops about removing the resonators and was told I would be wasting my money as it would not change the sound much.

Anyone have any input on this?
thanks!

Here is what I found...
The exhaust pipes in automobile exhaust systems are designed as acoustic resonators that work with the muffler to reduce noise, by making sound waves "cancel each other out"[1]. The "exhaust note" is an important feature for many vehicle owners, so both the original manufacturers and the after-market suppliers use the resonator to enhance the sound. In 'tuned exhaust' systems designed for performance, the resonance of the exhaust pipes is also used to 'pull' the combustion products out of the combustion chamber quicker.

well being i have the same truck as you (color, sport package, and im sure urs is the crew cab not the quad cab) the guys at the muffler shop told me i couldnt run a regular 40 series cause the HEMI pushs out to much power that it breaks the baffles inside, and the super 40 that they put on is stainless and can handle the power of the massive HEMI...

WTF! you serious..... hmm.... I never heard that before.... I went with the super 40s because its a little louder then the reg 40s and what I heard "it increases power" not sure if thats true but it is indeed louder.

40 series is actually louder then the super 40. The super 44 is louder then the regular 40, its on the flowmaster exhaust chart on their website

My Flowmaster40 - without resenators. I find when MDS kicks in it sounds as if i have no exhaust and sounds stock which is GREAT! Have a few more vids of it on my channel.
