Default Maybe another dumb question....

Loaded the tune in the truck, WOW...what a difference!! Now I got a question, here in South Texas I just noticed and why it never dawned on me before IDK. But we have 87, 89 and 93 Octane gas, now I loaded the 91 tune and filled the truck with 89...does anyone know how critical it is to be exact on the octane vs tune? 93 is just way to expensive, but if I have to do it I will. LOL

I would still run 91 your next tank, the potential of pinging just isn't worth it for the $ saved, IMHO of course. You bought the tuner to give you more power... so why short yourself?

Thats the issue we don't have 91 down here, just 87,89 and 93

Not worth the risk; the fact that you're not hearing pinging doesn't necessarily mean detonation is not occurring. The Mufflex may be drowning out the sound.

91 TUNE, run 93..

If you dont, and the engine senses knocking, itll just pull timing anyways and lower your performance. If you want the performance, put in 93 (for 91 tune).

Isnt there a 93 tune though? I thought it was 87, 91, 93 tunes.. Maybe Im wrong though?

It never works right if you just add octane booster. If it did work on a reliable basis, then it would just be annoying to fill the tank with octane booster everytime you filled up with gas too. Just my opinion though.
