Default 2010 Laramie seat snap

I was going over a speed bump when I felt and heard something under the drivers seat snap. I looked as best I could but don't see anything out of place under the seat.

I didn't hit the speed bump fast but did bounce slightly as I went over it. Any suggestions on what to look for? It does seem that there is a little less cushion in the seat now but not sure if it is just my imagination.

HI JRI just wondering if your seat squeaks at all! mine has squeaked since i picked it up I have about 3300 miles on her now. I just brought it in the other day to get an oil change and get the trailer break configured into the system and get the seat checked and plastic piece around the gas fill would pull out when i got gas and i would have to push it back in so the fill door would close properly. Well got the oil changed and there is a service bulletin on the gas fill witch they fixed. They didn't know how to do the trailer break at first and that took them 3 hr to figure out but they got it and charged me 55.00$ to do. But the seat they said that there was nothing wrong with it so I had to go out and sit in the truck and bounce up and down to show them that it squeaks when i go over bumps and was told that there was nothing they could do that day and i would have to bring it back and they would pull the seat and remove the covering to see if some thing was wrong with it. If you take it to the dealer let me know how you make out or if any one knows or has had the same problem let me know what you had to do thanks Eric

emax << I have just over 2,000 miles on it and haven't had a problem with the seat prior to this. I'll check out the seat further to see that everything still works but not ready to take it back to the dealer yet.

There's a procedure for seat squeaks on the rams. They have to spray moly chain lube on one of the crossbar joints at the rear of the seat. The dealer should know about this because it has been an issue in the rams. Hope that helps.

Yes they did lube the seat when i was there but that did nothing to help the squeak.

Default Found the Problem

I made another inspection under the seat and found out what made the snaping/cracking sound. The spring on the inner side of the seat apparently broke at a weld where it attaches to the seat frame.

I'll be taking it to the dealer this week.

I just dropped mine off today for a few things, and one of those things is checking out my seat because it has squeaked since day one. The bulletin that came out was for manual seats, not power (at least the one that was posted on this board). It sounds like a spring is bad or something - it's MADDENING.
