Question Muffler Question

Well ive pretty much narrowed it down to either a flowmaster original 40 or a magnaflow of an unknown model number.. thats where i was hoping you guys could help me out ive done my research on youtube and most of the exhaust clips sound horrible because of the camera so basically i want the loudness of a flowmaster 40 but im not sure which is deeper sounding

so basically which is deeper sounding the flowmaster 40 or a magnaflow?

if the deeper sounding muffler is the magnaflow is it as loud as the flowmaster?

the muffler will be a single in dual out dumped until i can afford to run them straight or angled out the back

The Magnaflow is quieter compared to the Flowmaster 40 series. The Flowmaster 40 is much deeper. The Magnaflow will outlast the Flowmaster though (lifetime warranty vs. 3-year warranty) Three guys I know have had their Flowmasters rot out on them.

ive always heard that a magnaflow had a deeper sound

i like this sound here but im just afraid it wouldnt be exactly what im looking for on loudness factor

this is a vid of the flowmaster 40s on a 4.7l also is it just me or does the magnaflow sound deeper?

but i also found these things called powersticks anyone ever heard of these they sound pretty good but kinda poppy

I've got a Magnaflow on my 4.7 & it is deep and throaty..... I think the Flowmaster are more prone to rust & blowout, and the sound they produce just doesn't do it for me. Exhaust is so subjective though! IMO, you can't beat the sound of a Magnaflow. For a while I ran a SI/SO 14" Magnaflow dumped just after the rear axle (just cut the factory pipe) and it sounded great. I currently have have a that same setup, but with a Y-Pipe after the muffler going to duals straight out the back, and it has a great sound.

well i went out and bought a flowmaster 40 today i must say it sounds great i just did a muffler swap so i kept the resonator on the end just about a perfect sound nice and deep fairly loud but best of all almost no drone in the cab while going down the highway now all i need is a nice tip to go on there the exhaust shop wanted way too much for their stainless tips they carried silverline but i wasnt going to pay 70 bucks for a tip summit also has silverlines and also flowmaster tips for much cheaper i want a stainless steel rolled edge and not the thin echo tip i think that looks cheap on a single out what are you guys running for tips? what inlet size do i need if i just want to weld it up to the stock pipe?
