Default New guy to the 5.7 and need some advice

First off hello to the forum members that are reading this!

Although I dont have a ram; I do however have a ram 5.7 hemi and trans that I am installing in a 1997 wrangler (see pics below)

My first question is basic. With a complete engine and trans where should I mount the chains from the engine load leveler?

Seems the manifold might not be the best choice and at this time i dont know if I will be using stock manifolds due to clearance.

Thanks in advance, I am sure once I get the mounts in i will begin the performance upgrades prior to final instalation.

The Hemi uses a special lift bracket that only the dealer will have. Just find something solid to bolt the leveler to.

take off the plastic engine cover first, & then you will see where you can attach the chains for lifting, i personally remove anything in the way of attaching a plate directly to the intake manifold, stick clean rags in any holes that a bolt can drop into, then bolt this tool that can be found at any auto parts store & your engine leveler hooks into it & of course your engine hoist to that

I will keep everyone updated.

I am planning on using the wiring harness and PCM out of a Ram. I just picked up a 4x4 transmission today.

I do not plan on taking off the intake so where am I to mount the plate?
Can I remove the four outer most intake or valve cover bolts and replace longer bolts not threaded down all the way? See image below

I am weary of breaking the intake or stripping anything and straps are a pain in the ass and not very safe

i wouldnt lift it by the valve cover bolt..too thin...

based on that picture, the only option I can see is making a cradle out of straps.

Welcome... I've seen a company in Nevada put Hemi's in two jeeps. Can't remember the name though. They had a program on TV (A&E I think) that showed them putting them through the paces (heat, snow, etc.) and they performed very well. I always wanted to do it myself. By all means keep us updated.
