Question Bakings heads and fogs

are fog lights made to be "baked" and taken apart like headlights? attempting to do mine and cant quite get it....

you can bake them open. You have to make sure the bulb is removed first to get uniform heat inside and out. You may have to bake them several times in order to soften them up completely since they're designed to get wet regularly. When you re-seal them, use plenty of RTV sealant

the bulbs were definitely taken out. they were in the oven close to 45 minutes at 225 and they wouldnt release all the way around. i havent decided if i am up to trying again. i already chipped part of the housing trying to get it apart.

DONT DO IT!!! I tried and ended breaking the fog light. They are sealed with a superglue type adheasive, it does not get gummy when heated and youre fogs will give way before that glue does

I ended up tinting the fogs to mak'em match the headlights better. Check my avatar.
