someone help me, my 2000 dodge ram 1500 is pulling a p1762 and p1764 manufactured controlled transmition, the truck drives perfectly fine, someone help??? what do i doo

Below is a list of possible causes. I'd suggest getting it checked by a qualified shop.


park/neutral switch not operating correctly
transmission fluid excessive debris
transmission fluid problem
5-volt supply circuit open
governor pressure sensor ground circuit open
governor pressure/temperature sensor
gov press sen signal ckt short to sen gnd ckt
gov press sensor harness intermittent
gov press sensor harness
gov press sensor signal ckt short to ground
governor press sensor signal ckt shrt to voltage
governor pressure sensor signal circuit open
governor pressure sensor signal ckt short to voltage
governor pressure/temperature sensor
powertrain control module
trans harness/solenoid (gnd ckt > 5.0 ohms)
trans harness/solenoid (sig ckt > 1.0 volt)
transmission harn/sol assy (gnd res)
transmission harness/solenoid assy
governor pressure sensor wiring harness intermittent

ha word on all dodge fourms, is thatits the governor pressure sensor, so its a 150 dollar part

Yeah, most of the faults listed by RamTech list the governor or an associated component.

Hopefully it is the sensor only. Some of the items listed there can run into some money.

RamTech is just what his screen name says he is. He's a certified Dodge Technician. Diagnosis, even with the vehicle in a shop, can be difficult. So don't be so quick to dismiss suggestions made by a person so highly qualified as he is.

I'll agree that the sensor is the most likely problem but the other things are still possible. This is where it pays to have it diagnosed. I've seen a wiring problem cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars in parts blindly thrown at a vehicle.

yeah, i am going to have to do the sensors on it, al together both come out to 135.75 or somethin like that
