I know what you mean about the body shop messin it up. I think it would be a little easier for them because it's white right? and if they did offer me a check for 2200 that might just go right into the truck... forced induction maybe? hahah..

What I did was to get a written estimate to fix the problem from a
respected body shop, and then took that to the dealer to get the check.

There is no way the dealer is going to cut him a cheque for the repairs. The dealer either will have their own shop do the repairs or it will need to be done / billed to the dealer who in turn will submit it to Chrysler. Done properly no one will be able to tell its been painted. Except maybe a body shop professional.

Actually white isn't easier. There is as much variation in whites as any other colour. Still a good shop will match it and make it look great for you again. They aren't going to cut a cheque to you sorry

I would take it to an auto body shop and have them look at it. Get as much info about what the problem is and what needs to be one to fix it correctly. I would hit two or three body shops to compare what they tell you. The more you know the less chance you have of not getting what you want/expect.

I dont know your local dealership but sales guys are programmed to say yes to just about anything the customer asks.

Good Luck hope it all works out.

I had the same problem with my truck on the bed, there was a spot where it wasn't even painted. They had to take pictures and send it to corporate for approval. Took about a week and a half, but no problems getting it fixed. I noticed it before I took delivery though. My question is how does a truck that doesn't even get painted in an obvious spot get past quaility and control at the plant?

yea I wonder the same thing. I went by and they did the whole picture thing and said corporate would probably want to send someone to look at it because the pics weren't very revealing. They were supportive though and it looks like they'll get it done.

I have a handful of paint runs in my truck, better then no paint i guess lol
Was debating if i should get the dealer to fix them, but i have had bad experience with auto body shops and really don't to have it become worse. Its factory runs so i guess its okay with me, but just for curiousity i will see what my dealer says next time i'm in for service
