Default What do you guys think of this lifting kit..

First off,i want to inform you guys that i DONT own a dodge ram yet but will be very soon.Ill be going with the 2009-2010 sport or Laramie edition.

Second,I have NO knowledge whatsoever about lift kits..and know nothing about other things that need to be modified when assembling one.But to keep things simple my goal is for the LOOK and nothing more.I wont be going into the woods or anything..But i dont want the handling of the truck to be affected, and i dont want to have to modify gears or what have you.The original rims and tires are 275/60/r20 and i might want to go up to 350/ or something for even more height. So the goal here is to not MODIFY anything else but the installation of the lift kit alone,So please tell me what you guys think of this lift kit that i have provided with the link right here:

http://www.performancepartswholesale...920+4294965426

its the one selling for 448.99$..the 4th one down the page i think. It will give me a 5 inch rise about.

Thanks!!!

There is another member on this forum that got that same lift as the one you are looking at. You will be getting a 5" lift with that all together. Now with a 5" lift you can fit a 35" tire. If you are not planning on doing any off roading then go with a All Terrain tire.

I believe that kit has a 2" lift for suspension and then 3" body lift. I say this because it says it comes with a leveling kit and body lift. Leveling kit usually means 2" up front. I would imagine this body lift it comes with is done right so you wont get too many gaps and such.

Body lifts are a cheap way to lift the truck. They can turn out bad if they are the wrong one. You should be careful with choosing to do a body lift. The better way to go would be with a full suspension lift, but is that is not in your budget then that kit can turn out fine for the money.

Like I said there was another member on the forum and he has the same lift. He says he loves the way his looks. I am guessing the kit does not have gaps n such. I am sure he will post and let you know

There's a video about it here. http://www.youtube.com/user/PerfAuto.../2/EiGbzcLrk6o

These kits also take less time to install than a suspenion lift, so that cost will be lower too. As has been said, if the installer does not know what they are doing they can mess that up, but that's true with anything. I guess a moron could screw up installing a set of carpet mats.

Just make sure you go to someone who installs these on a regular basis.

It is cheaper since it has a body lift included with the suspension. It should be much quicker sine it is only a spacer on the front and then the rest of the 3" is body lift. It is cheaper since you are buying a body lift + leveling kit. There is a post that is pretty new with a newer Ram with the same lift you are looking at. Take a look, the thread is called 3" body lift

I have 3.55 gears and i havn't regeared yet with 37's.I am thinking about regearing next year to 4.11's or something.

Is your truck setting level right now?If not it might be setting the same way after you install everything. It will just be higher.Just an fyi.

I think if you make sure you go to a reputable shop you will be pleased. No point getting crazy with a suspension lift if your just going after a look. You can actually get some cool and aggressive swamper tires that could really add the cool factor while being great on road. Yes its a All terrain tire, Great rim choices too.http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=12&g=1

Another good option http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=2&g=1
