Default Houston Chapter Katy Meet

Ok it's time to get some ideas out there for the next meet to bee held in Katy. What are some suggestions as far as date, time, and location? I don't know the Katy area all that well but I know some key areas that might bee interesting.

I think your side of town will bee next after Katy. We've been north for the Nifty Fifties Meet. Then we went southwest (uptown) for the Coffee and Cars Show. After that, we went northwest (Cypress) for the Don Julio's Meet. Lastly, we went southwest (Sugar Land) for the Chilli's Meet. We are an active group but we just need more participation.

Galveston at THE SPOT should be one to do....

There is some kind of meet in Kemah as well, I'll check on that. Depending on date and time for the Katy meet will depend on if i can make it.

Oh yeah, I've been to "The Spot" beefore. Good call. Right off the Seawall too. That would bee a great place to meet. Keep us updated on that meet in Kemah as well. Would definitely get some great group pictures with some water in the background. It can bee a photoshoot meet. For that meet we should all meet at a designated location first, then we caravan over as one. That would make a great statement to on-lookers.

Arrgh! You beat me to the punch Killer! I was about to start an update when I found your post!

Nick and I are thinking about a couple of different places out in Katy. One is a place called Stars (sports bar) that we could incorporate things into a Sunday Texans game or the like. The other thought is a public park or parking lot and we could do more of a pot luck BBQ/picnic arrangement. What are everyone's thoughts on those (2) options? Stars offers better protection from inclement weather while the park offers more 'face time' with the vehicles and a quieter location for conversations.

We haven't had enough participation to warrant starting a poll in this thread so simply reply if you think you'll be attending and let us know what works best for you. We've only been getting about 30% of our RSVP's to attend here lately. It's a heck of a lot more fun when there is a bunch of trucks rolling up (it also helps get the word out re: RamForumZ in the Houston area)

We'd like to finalize locations by this week in order to give all involved adequate notice to plan. Please RSVP to this thread as soon as you can to help us out with attendance numbers.

Thanks in advance,
Yard

Sorry. I didn't mean to jump ahead of you Barnyard. What date are you looking to do this? So far our meets have been towards the end of the month. Is the 23rd/24th a good date? It'll give people time to adjust their schedules. I'm leaning more towards the Stars Sports Bar. The picnic idea is great but we need to have outstanding participation for that. So far we have not reached that level. It wouldn't bee much of a picnic if 3 to 4 people show up imo.

I'm having lunch with Nick this afternoon and we'll hash out some more details. I think he mentioned something about wings. Does that peak anyone's interest more than a sports bar?
