Default Exhaust question regaurding aluminized steel

I'm currently working with a regular 1 in/1 out side exhaust and wanted to upgrade to a 1 in/2 out rear. I really dont have money these days because im in school working part time and paying almost 900 a month for my insurance and new car note. I found a set of flowmasters for $310 but they are aluminized steel. My question is...does any1 know how good/bad the aluminized is compared to stainless steel? Like i said i dont have the cash nor do i wanna put alot of money into my ram because its mainly for the winter but will be using it as my daily driver while driving 200 miles a week to school. I just want an aggressive sound and the look of the dual tips. Also if anyone knows where i can get an exhaust for a good price, plz do tell. Thanks in advance...

I could be wrong...but I am going to give this a try. We just bought/installed MBRP's on our Challenger. The retailer told us that there was a $250-$300 difference. They said that the aluminum was the less expensive and that here in GA, where we don't get snow or ice, the aluminum would do just fine (and we have a lifetime warranty with the MBRP's). Now, being that you are up North, I don't know, with this knowledge I was given by the retailer, that I would use aluminum. Just my .02. I could be wrong so stick around for others opinions.

The biggest difference is the stainless ones won't rust over time, the alumanized ones will begin to rust at the welds and then fall apart especially if you live in a salt infested area. You also don't have to buy a full cat-back exhaust, have a look a just upgrading your muffler, this is cheaper, and you still get better performance out of it.

If you dont have the money, get aluminized, pretty simple. You dont have the money for SS so you really dont even have an option.

How long do you plan on keeping your truck? Provided you do underbody washes during the winter, itll easily last 5 years (aluminized) even in the snow/salt/rain.
