Default fuel problems

on so i got my truck about two months ago. it had a few problems but nothing serious. a few weeks ago the fuel pressure light started to come on. i replaced the lift pump with an airdog 150gph pump. set the pressure at 24psi like the mechanic told me. now about a week of driving around town the light is starting to come on again. i put a guage on it and i have 24psi at idle, when i step on the fuel the pressure drops over 10psi. also i have very little power untill about 2500rpms. then it pulls like a train. after all this started the alternator started giving me problems, it wont charge for the first few minutes then its fine. and at times i have to crank it a bit before it will start like it has no fuel. i put a scaner on it and checked everything i can, the tps says it is at 8% with the engine off and the max i get is 71%. im sure all this is related in some way. the cummins dealer has no clue whats wrong and everything points to the injector pump. anyone have any ideas? and if it is the pump any segustions on one? i use the truck to pull a trailer so i want a little more than stock without going crazy.

Sorry, I have very little experience with with the Cummins systems. Are there any good diesel mechanics in your area? They might have some suggestions for you or they have already seen this problem and have a fix.

I assume that your fuel system filter and any condensation traps are clean and in good working order? Fuel lines and injectors are in good shape?

everything is new up to the injector pump. it has less than 100 miles since i put the lift pump on. i have talked to a few people that work on cummins and they eather have no clue or dont want to help. im not going to pay hundreds of dollars for them to tell me what i already know. everyone just says yea you have a fuel problem. i guess im to the point of waiting on something to break lol.
