Default Saleen Supercharger for the 5.7L Hemi

So Steve Saleen (of Saleen Mustang fame) has a custom Challenger with his supercharger installed. His 5.7L Challenger is supercharged to 500hp.

What was interesting to me is that he chose a challenger RT (with our 5.7L Hemi) instead of the 6.1L or 6.4L.

This got me thinking about how easy it would (or would not) be to have this supercharger installed to the 2009+ Rams with the same 5.7L Hemi. Price aside, it would be nice to know that there was a credible and established supercharger that was tested and proven for these Rams...

Thoughts?

Ya that would be awesome, i think the magnuson supercharger for 09+ ram is supposed to be released at the months end, and having another competitor will help lower the outragous price on them

I know Procharger makes a supercharger for the 5.7L as well. I am not sure if they make it for the new version but I know they do for up to 08 Rams.

the only issue with that is its a centrifugal SC not a roots style, like the SMS SC I like the "old school" on top of the engine look that I like better.

I'm with you on the roots style but mostly because they make boost faster and easier. You will get much better part throttle power and responce than you ever could with a centrifugal unit.

Not sure if the bottom end of our 5.7's are the same as the Challenger 5.7's but, the reason I have not put a SC on my Challenger is because the the bottom end is weak. No matter who I talked to about an install the story was the same, the bottom end is weak and there is no guarantee how long it would last with a SC.

Not worth the risk in my opinion on the Challenger. Maybe the Ram is different but it should be something to consider. I am no expert by any stretch just stuff I heard.

How many failures have been seen? I've tossed around the idea of a SC but will pass if there are proven failures on this motor.
