Default price for installation of 2002 stock exhaust?

Guys - I'm an inexperienced RAM newbie here and looking to buy a 2002 4x4 quad cab, 4.7 SLT. I like the truck except the exhaust is too loud for me. (Im an old guy!) The dealer told me he believes it not to be an aftermarket exhaust (which surprised me) but rather the louder exhaust was an option on this truck. Any guesses on price to run new exhaust (typical stock) ? I don't know how far up the chain the exhaust would be the same for these trucks and how far back the "mods" typically start. Thanks to all...it will help me decide on whether to pull to trigger on this thing.

If the exhaust is loud and stock maybe the resonator or muffler has a hole in it. To be honest the stock exhausts are pretty quiet. I dont see how a loud exhaust is stock.

If you want to go back to stock I am sure if you ask atround here someone has a stock exhaust. Or you can always go with a resonator on the exhaust or a quieter muffler. I would check to see if the stock one is in good condition before adding to the truck.

Well, I crawled under that thing and looked it over good and am sure there are no holes anywhere. SO, I'm going to conclude that the salesman was wrong (not sure how knowledgeable he was) and believe I was looking at a modified exhaust. So, hopefully it was just be from the mufflers on back that would need replacing.

I know around here in the Dallas area the mom & pop exhaust places would probably be $140-$220 for a stock type muffler & pipe over the axle and out the rear. If it's as simple as just cutting the existing muffler out & welding up the new one, I's look for $120-$150 (depending on muffler brand). This is for a single in single out setup without chrome tips. If you have a dual out setup, you could probably add $40-$50 more. I's suggest calling up several local shops and get quotes.
