Default Tire help guys (those dropped 4/6)

Ok, I have the McGaughys 4/6 on my 05, 20" oem wheels and went to a 265/50 right before I lowered it. It NEVER rubbed the fenders. I went to a 285/50 today, so its about 1/2" taller and wider, and it now rubs up front like a SOB when I hit small dips.

If the OEM wheel offset was double (19mm stock) I think that 3/4" in would clear the front fender lips.I want SRT10 wheels, but I am afraid they'll rub too. This has always been my gripe w/ drop spindles, the moves the arc of travel up so effectively out....even though technically it doesn't.AND I wanna drop the front another inch still!

What are you guys runnin w/o issues (tire and wheel sizes)?

i have the 4/6 as well. im runnin 22's right now (ill have to check the tire size) but i dont have a problem so much up front however they rub a little on the inside of the plastic fender guard. The rear tires rub the inside of the fender pretty good when i go over large dips/ bumps. and rips the tires up a little. GOTTA GET THAT FIXED!!! So even though its the opposite ill get my tire size and tell you what i DO have issues with.

Good to know, thanks for the feed back guys....I will asmit I drive a little hard in the turns, and also tow a lot, so it does see some suspension torque, but hey no one gets it easy at my house, you earn your keep! Ask my Grand National!

Rather than making a new thread for a similar question, i thought i would use this one if its ok. =)

Im looking at doing a 4/6 drop, but i have the stock 17" rims and stock tires. Do you think i would have rubbing issues? I not prepared to get new rims right now, so if itl rub baddly i might have to wait awhile for the new rims first.

I might could get smaller tires on the 17"s but i wanted to check and see if anyone thought the stock tires would cause any issues. :-/

you SHOULD be ok. i had the stock 20's and had some ussues but the overall diameter is alot larger than with the 17's. IMO do it but you may have a small amount of rubbing.
