Default fuel gauge wiring

i have a 94 1500 5.9 and the fuel gauge does not work it always reads empty and the light stays on.

i searched for answers before posting and read about a ground wire from the chassis to the frame on the passenger side where the cab and box meet. i dont have any ground wires there and dont see any evidence that there ever was any wiring there.

does any one have any ideals

Most of the time it's the fuel level sending unit that goes bad but I can't guarantee that's what your problem is.

It could be the sending unit , dash guage or even a wiring issue .

I like your posts, you seem to know your stuff. my gas gauge went from half to nothing. i was going to check the gauge, if there is power to it then the sending unit is good and no power the sending unit is bad? is this correct?
