There is a visual difference. Not sure regarding spec's or runner lengths etc.

As far as loosing low end torque because of the mixed runners, would porting the internals out and upgrading the TB make for a reason to do this swap? Or is forced induction the only reason you should do this?

I'm looking to modify and improve performance on my truck, hp and torque. i briefly looked at the inertia site and was wondering if this is possible on an 08 5.7 or is this mod strictly for 09+. you guys really seem to know whats going on with this stuff.

I did the swap on my '07. You need to get the machined timing cover and bracket from Inertia Motorsports that will move the alt and A/C comp out to fit the TB. You'll also need to open up the looming on the engine harness and pull the MAP sensor wiring out as it's located at the back of the 6.1L manifold and on the front of the 5.7L manifold. You may or may not have to extend the TB wiring, it was tight on mine, so I decided to solder in 6" extra so it was sitting the way I wanted it to since I had a nitrous TB spacer in it as well. You will also need the port adapter plates from modern muscle to port match the 6.1L manifold to the pre-eagle head intake ports.

Honestly, unless you're planning a bigger stroke, eagle head swap, a supercharger, or a good shot of spray, this isn't a swap for you. It's expensive and the gains are minimal with basic bolt-ons, but the manifold allows for more room in the top end and handles boost/nitrous much better.

well I was implying to just keep it N/A. Stroker, Cams,CNC Ported Heads, etc.. But my problem is not sure on how to start parting this out. Can't afford to buy everything at once. Wanted to see if it was worth it to do all this without SC, or Turbo.

If you're looking for a starting point, then build the rest of the engine first, let this be the last thing you do. If you plan to stay N/A then you'll get more benefit from the variable intake runner length than from the long runners on the 6.1L manifold. You could really go for it and pick up the 6.4L manifold which also has the variable runner lengths but is designed to flow a lot better than the truck's manifold.

Is it worth doing without a major power adder? Not really. Does it look bad ass under the hood? absolutely.
