Default Spacers and leveling kits

First off, I'm looking to put a leveling kit on my truck with 35" tires. However I know very little how leveling kits work. If someone could debrief me that would be appreciated. Do I need to level the front or the front and back. As well I heard some people say they add spacers. Do I need to add spacers and what are they for? Where do spacers go? An explanation would be excellent. Thanks!

Leveling kits bring up the front of your truck to level it out with the rear. You'll probably need 1/4" wheel spacers up front if you plan on using your stock rims. The spacers will prevent rubbing, so they're pretty handy.
