Default how is the bullydog triple gt gas tuner

i was wondering if i could have some input on this performance tuner? do you notice an increase in performance and also is it hard to use. the reason i am asking i am in the market of buying a performance programmer and this guy i know has this one for 175.00.he returned it to stock and to factory specs. my other choice is the superchip flashpaq 3865. if you can give me the good and bad of bullydog i would appreciate it .thank-you

there a thread about this you should check out the diablo forum we have on here. Or you can look at superchip. A question for you what are you going to do to it? drag racing you going to do basic bolts on

I love mine for a basic, easy, no hassle performance upgrade. And it sure made a difference. Not a lot of options to it, but if you're like me and you don't want to deal with having too many options then it's great. If you want to have more options in tuning, get something else. Personally, I am leery of changing too many settings in my truck, so this is a safer option for me. It's like a mac as compared to a PC in a way. Like a mac, it's set to your truck without a lot of ability to customise it like you could with a PC but because of that, there's also a whole lot less that could go wrong.

Part of me wants more options like the predator has, but I would end up tinkering way too much and I could end up doing more damage than good, but that's just me.

I have one in mine, it's ok at best. The driving coach is a neat feature as well. With a 4.7 it will make a pretty big difference, with the Hemi, it's just meh.....

After I loaded the 87 octane tune about 5 months ago I got about a 1-2 mpg increase but I also put on my CAI on the same day. I think its ability to monitor another 4 things that your dash doesnt allow for is a very nice feature. It saves me from having to buy $600 in gauges for my a pillar. I wouldnt say the tune is impressive but its noticeable. I have a 5.7 in a 2500 so I'll take any extra power I can make. I havent tried the high octane tune but I hope to in the near future. My biggest problem with it would be the reading and writing time. I swear it takes around 20 min to save the old tune and load a new one. Its a great gadget, but an OK tuner. If you want real performance you should get something else.

I don't know about the bully dog...they are mostly for diesels from what I've seen. I can say that the Diablosport predator works good if you plan on doing a cam or would like the ability to do a custom tune. I have compared the Diablo to the Superchips flash pack and honestly for me the Superchips tuner worked out better. The tranny tuning in the Superchips is much better and I felt like it was more drivable around town and on the hwy, just felt more responsive. The Superchips tuner works great in the tow tune with 91 octane, its crazy. Also I know people don't buy these trucks for fuel economy but it is nice to have an econ tune if your going on long trips. I got better mpg's with the Superchips tuner and it felt more crisp to me, pulled harder too. Don't have dyno #'s but seat of the pants the Superchips tuner felt better. Not gonna knock the Diablo just what I felt, I actually own the Diablo but my friend let me use the Superchips tuner to compare and that is what I've came up with. Hope it helps...

I have to agree and say Bully Dog is a diesel brand rather then a gas. Also the thing with the Bully Dog programmer it is one unit for all vehicles. If you go with Superchips or Diablosport you are getting a vehicle specific programmer. I have the Diablosport Predator and I love the thing! It is a great tuner with custom tunability. If you are planning on doing the basic bolt on upgrades then you should go with the Superchips over the Predator. The Predator is great for more performance upgrades since you can custom tune it

Kinda true.

its one unit loaded with several different tunes for a multitude of different cars and trucks.

makes it so if you change to a different truck you dont have to buy a new tuner
