Thanks Ramtech. It kinda goes back to my earlier post about swapping out differentials. I figured that if I upgraded diffs I would change gears at that time. Based on what you posted earlier about leaving the 9.25 diff alone I'll probably leave the gearing alone as well. Of course if it dies/ breaks whatever I will probably go 4.10 dana

now with the 17s (29") tall tire Im buzzing 2250rpms at 70mph corrected with Diablo tuner.. but my final ratio now with 17s is at least a 4.56 or steeper. Someone has the equation..
my mileage basically stayed the same..maybe its due to loosing 20lbs a corner in rotational mass, but there are many variables, truck wasnt broken in yet when I switched over, synthetics etc.. one thing for certain my mpg is better if I maintain 75mph compared to 65mph with new setup, weird...
tested it steady for 1 hour straight without hitting cruise control after being set on both speeds.

Mine is about a 250rpm increase from 4.10's to 4.88's with the same tire size as autobred.
65mph is around 2400rpm
70mph is around 2600rpm

sprinter, here is link where you can play around with different gear vs. tire sizes to find out what rpm you would run.

..I had 3.92's when I bought my 05 qc. Wanted gears and did 4.56's...ran great on the track and on the street...but peer pressure made me change to 4.10's and although they were ok, I missed the 4.56's on the street (and my truck is dropped on 17's and 30" tires)...when a month ago a friend didn't know what to do with the 4.56's he took out for 4.10's (he was the peer pressure..damn him), I jumped on it and had them installed..now my 'always' on smile is back on my face and I still get 20+ mpgs... not tryin to sway you... just sayin im a happy fu!@ since I had them installed.

[QUOTE=sprintertech;340449]dont want no bully dog titan or toyota on the side of me.....[QUOTE]

This is exactly why I want 4.56's. I'm just nervous about how it would affect my warranty.

Totally off topic, I got your PM but cannot respond since I'm a newb. No it wasn't me at Ray Brandt. There's another black cc sport around here. I've seen him a few times on Jeff Hwy. Great looking truck...
