Default Bilsteins on the way

My bilstein order finally went through and comes in next Tuesday.

I looked under my truck today, and the bushings where the shocks and bolt meet are kind of dry rotted and old. I would like to get new ones but can't figure out where to get them.

Also, will I need any special tools? Such as a spring compressor? I am not exactly sure how to install them, but I have a friend who is going to give some verbal advice.

You should be able to install the front shock without jacking up the truck. I just installed Level-Rite shocks on my MC but yours may be different. Old shocks pull right out through the top remove 3 nuts from top of strut tower, remove lower bolt, pull through top then remove the bracket from the old shock. insert new shock without bracket, install lower bolt, install bushings on top of new shock, install bracket, install 3 nuts on top of strut tower and you are done. should take no more than 1 hour.

You should get new bushings already in place on the new shocks.

Use some penetrant at each bolt and nut, letting it sit for a while, before you try taking them off. It may spare you snapping a bolt.

Thanks, the previous owner installed ranchos and the bushings look old as hell now. Wanted to make sure.
