I average between 15 and 16 mpg doing mostly 35 to 50 mph with traffic lights and little highway. On the highway the mileage is never higher than 16.8 mpg driving 70 to 78 mph- for those guys getting 19 or more mpg on the highway- how are you doing it? All my mileage numbers are hand calculated as the electronic display is usually off .1 to .6 mpg.

At 4,500 miles, mine is settling in at about 14.8 mpg with about 3/4 city and 1/4 hwy but I am hard on the pedal sometimes. When towing a 8,200 lb Outback TT I am getting 10.3.

My hand calcs are at 16.7 MPG and still climbing (I seem to gain one or two tenths every tank). I've found the sweet spot for my truck is between 65 and 70 MPH with a very light foot. I drive 'way ahead' up the road. This includes gradually speeding up to take a run at an upcoming hill and and coasting whenever possible. My commute is about 50 miles per day 1/2 highway 2 35-65 MPH and 1/2 stop & go city.

Believe it or not, my MPG started to increase when i hit the 23,000 mile mark,
i don't know if this was due to software updates or what, highway driving, flat land, no wind to speak of, i saw 21.+ MPG using cruise control 70 -80 MPH

I drive 80 miles back and forth to work each day
I only use HESS 89 octane, getting 18city & 23highway
(i tried a couple tanks of 87 octane, lost power, mpg went in the crapper)
I use 3ounces of "marine grade" stabilizer in every fill up due to the enthanol here in NY
My mpg increased in a huge way after i started using the marine grade stabilizer (i use it in everything i own)
Ther`s another good one out there too, called E10 StarTron, but i dont think it works as well as the stabil brand.
The marine grade stabil will coat and protect all internal metal componets, E10 StarTron does NOT...!
My mpg before stabil was 13city/18highway (89 octane)
I buy my gas at the same HESS station with every fill up
My truck also runs MUCH smoother using the marine grade stabil

My only advice, watch out for enthanol, it is NO GOOD for our gasoline engines of any kind...PERIOD...!!!!
Enthanol decrease`s your mpg BIGTIME...!!!!!!!!!!! So if some of you guys are burning ethanol where you`re at, your low mpg does NOT surprise me at all. Thank the EPA for THAT ethanol shit

Default Best Shot

The best I've seen was 22 on a long trip and sticking to a 55mph with cruse on. My normal is 17+/- as I like to stomp on it once in a while.
