Not to ask a question on your question. But I have a '10 laramie 1500 with only 1300 miles on it and I am not seeing anything over 11mpg at the most. I do mostly city driving but I almost always drive conservatively. Is there a break in period for the engine that would cause the bad mpg?

5 stop signs,10 red lights (less then 1/4 mile apart),and a 1 mile spurt at 60.....thats city driving all day!

i live in new orleans.......there is almost no highway driving here....even I-10 is stop and go....

no new vehicle will hit its potential in the begining......imho i think there is also a learning curve while paying close attention to the actual fuel mileage bar and see what the truck likes.....what ive found is real slow acceleration hurt fuel mileage.....dont floor it but get to your intended speed quickly and throw the cruise on even between red lights.....let the vehicle coast to stopped traffic instead of keeping your foot on the pedal till the last minute.....watch the actual mileage while coasting....goes way up.....ive found thats the biggest way to bring the average up......

in all reality when i drive without really trying to improve MPG but still driving semi conservatively my average stays around 13.5......

On the highway i can usually pull 20+. but as soon as u go over 70 the mds system wont kick in that can bring your average down to about 15. I recently put an dod14m muffler on my truck and now i see about 9mpg. I cant keep my foot off the gas

I get average on highway 19.7 @ 73 MPH in city I get 14-15 but I do drive most highway and toll roads back and forth to work which is a 17 mile commute. Most I have gotten was from Houston to Witchita, Kansas @ 72 MPH was 23.2 MPG mostly flat. no exhaust or filter change out yet with 76,000 miles on ODO.. Best mileage I have seen per tank was with Shell brand, but I paid more per gallon so it was a trade out.

Must be a Hemi Thing..... My 4.7L (4x4 Crew Cab with 3.55) has had three tanks through it so far (About 1100 miles). Primarily a mixed route 15.5 mile (one way) work commute that takes 25 minutes. Use only G100 87 (No Ethanol Regular).

Tank 1: 399 miles / 21.3 gal / 18.7 mpg / Temps between 10F and 40F
Tank 2: 356 miles / 19.5 Gal / 18.3 mpg / Temps between 10F and 40F + Snow
Tank 3: 382 miles / 19.5 gal / 19.6 mpg / Temps between 40F and 60F
