The Z bracket is the only way really to install the catch can unless you do some creative modding. The stud that is on the 5.7 and 6.1 HEMIs isn't on the 5.7 on the 10-12 RAM. Also, you might want to consider getting the extension also. The catch can was the first mod I did on my RAM and I talked a great deal about it when I first got on this forum. Even on the BT website, it tells you to use the Z bracket.

As for what brand. It really doesn't matter. They all do the same thing. Whether you get a bully dog or a monoso or a billet tech. It's all about what look you want. Personally I went with billet tech for two reasons. 1. They were the first ones to market a catch can for the third gen HEMIs on the LX bodies and the RAM. 2. They are the only ones in the market to have a clear bottom or frosted bottom opinion. and lastly, they are the ones that are making the Speedlogix and MOPAR catch can. But like I said... it's all about appearance when it comes to the catch can since they all do the same job.

Alright, thanks! I thought the Z bracket was the way to go. Maybe I just missed that info on the bt website. Shouldn't be too hard to convince the wife that I need this lol. Maybe I'll even get the red to color match the truck..

if I remember right... When you order the ctch can for the rm, it gives you the option to get the Z bracket or it just comes with it in the price.

that's correct, there are actually two options, one priced with the z bracket, one without, then you can add the bracket to that to get to the same price...

What size is tubing used on the BT Catch Cans?
I just got the regular rubber stuff with mine, thinking now I would like to get something different...And MAN the factory pieces were hard to get off on mine...I also had to trim mine to fit...

A necessary mod indeed. I speak from first hand experience.

I have a red one already waiting to go on when my red Ram arrives.

I am finally getting around to installing mine, ordered it a few months ago. The "long" hose they sent is too short! Grr. Off to the auto parts store I go. Would be a 20 min install if it wasnt for that. Incredibly simple to do. I was amazed how easy things come off that truck, like the air box, haha. I had no trouble with the PCV hose, but I do recommend pulling out the air box as it takes 2 seconds and will save you from gashing your forearm on the air intake hose plastic thingy, like I managed to do. :S
